Direct outreach
You control the relationship and negotiate without an intermediary fee. You also handle qualification, research, confidentiality, samples, diligence and follow-up. It can work well when the relevant buyer and its published channel are already clear.
Working with an intermediary
An intermediary may help position the collection and coordinate interest, but examine what it actually commits to deliver. Ask who it represents, how it is paid, whether it receives referral compensation and which buyers it can approach.
Questions before signing a mandate
Check exclusivity, duration, termination, tail periods, expenses, conflicts, fee basis and whether the intermediary may bind you. Request a written schedule of fees and any referral arrangements. Do not assume all brokers work on identical terms.
Use a consistent comparison packet
Give qualified counterparties the same approved datasheet and request offers against the same proposed scope. Keep a decision log explaining price, rights and risk differences. This site does not introduce holders, negotiate transactions or operate a brokerage.
